We were pleased to welcome PA Secretary of Transportation Leslie Richards to Bedford to discuss ongoing PennDOT initiatives.
The day also served as the backdrop for the announcement of a $2.5 million dollar grant for the North Extension of the Heritage Trail, announced by Congressman Bill Shuster, Chairman of the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee and Congressman Bud Shuster, former Chair.
The Chamber’s Business Community Showcase is the organization’s largest business-to-business networking event of the year, sponsored by Fox 8, ABC 23, This-TV and Antenna TV.
It began with a morning career fair for 9th-thru-11th graders to visit dozens of local businesses and learn about the region’s career opportunities. More than 250 students attended from most of the county’s school districts; they also heard testimonials from local business leaders about why they choose to live and work in Bedford County.
Booths were also open to the business public. The networking luncheon featuring remarks from Congressman Shuster and Secretary Richards.
An afternoon Dale Carnegie Workshop focused on networking skills, followed by the Showcase “making connections” mixer, hosted by Bun Air Corp.
