The Bedford County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to present, in partnership with UPMC Health Plan, our 12th Women in Business Conference. Designed to educate, enlighten and inspire a regional audience of professional women, the Fall symposium-style event will take place Wednesday, November 6th at the historic Omni Bedford Springs Resort. The Chamber is pleased to announce keynote speakers: Megan McGeary-Porter, Chief Operations Officer of UDNI speaking on cyber security for ourselves, our companies, and our families; Tina Molski, Operations Director for the Bedford Distribution Center for REI (Recreational Equipment, Inc.), speaking on creating your own good luck while drawing on her extensive leadership experience both in warehousing/logistics and her career in the US Army; and Holly Wilbanks, of Wilbanks Consulting Group, speaking on mentorship and workforce development in rural communities.
“We are so thrilled to offer this wonderful line-up of speakers,” said Chamber President-CEO Kellie Goodman Shaffer. “All three of these professional women bring a wealth of knowledge, positivity and leadership experience to share with our audience – it’s going to be a great day.”
Among the women-owned businesses expected to participate as exhibitors and vendors, offering early holiday shop-local opportunities, is Addictive Apparel from Everett, PA. Owner Nicole Smith will share some fun fall and holiday looks through an end-of-day, inclusive fashion show with selections and products for for women (and men) of all sizes, shapes and ages.
The Chamber is also thrilled to welcome students from the Massage Therapy Program at Allegany College of Maryland, who will spend the day gaining practical experience while providing our attendees with free chair massages.
Other conference highlights will be a dessert break sponsored by Bedford Candies and Rita’s Italian Ice, a breakfast-time Good News Conference and introductions including all conference attendees, and a Toys for Tots Collection.
SPECIAL OMNI ROOM RATE:
The Omni Bedford Springs will offer a special conference room rate for the nights before and during the conference, starting at just $159. Deadline to reserve your room using the conference rate is October 7, 2024.
Also, conference guests will enjoy the opportunity to be treated to a chair massage by students in the Allegany College of Maryland Massage Therapy program.
