FREE Movie Nights Feature Recognition of Everett Baseball Team, Covid Test Giveaways, Speedway Partnership
The Bedford County Chamber is pleased to announce some special features for upcoming movie nights at the Silver Lining Drive-In.
The weekend of August 6th will now include two movies, the Disney classic, beginning The Little Mermaid, Saturday August 6th, hosted by Hometown Bank, UPMC Centers for Rehab Services and Renewal by Anderson. Cost to attend is just $5 for adults (ages 19 and up) – all guests 18 and under are admitted free.
A special Everett Baseball night is planned for Sunday August 7th, for which admission will be free for all. The festivities will include a recognition of the team at 8:30pm, followed by the showing of Disney’s “The Final Season” at 9pm. Everett night is presented by by Gary Shetter Insurance and Waltower Enterprises, with additional sponsorship support from Lower’s Pharmacy, ACM Bedford Co. Campus, McFarland Furniture and Morral Farm Supply. Gates open at 7:30pm.
Additional movie dates include A Night at the Museum Saturday, August 13th, sponsored by First Peoples Community Federal Credit Union and the Bedford Elks Lodge 1707. This special event will be FREE, courtesy the Bedford County Covid-19 Advisory Committee, which will provide covid test kits and other give-aways for attending families.
August 14th marks the second movie night of the summer in partnership with the Bedford Speedway. The FREE showing of Talladega Nights will begin around 9pm after Sunday night racing.
The Silver Lining Drive-In Series wraps up with the Saturday, August 20th showing of Disney’s Cruella and the James Cameron Epic, Titanic Saturday, August 27th.

July 1, 2022 – News Release: Movies Now Free to All Guests 18 and Under
Bedford, PA — The Bedford County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce a significant change in the Silver Lining Drive-In Movie Series pricing to the benefit local families. Beginning July 2nd, all movie-goers ages 18 and under will be admitted FREE. Adult pricing (19 and older) will remain at just $5 per person. (Original pricing was $5 for ages 10 and older.)
“The Chamber of Commerce and Bedford County Fair recognize the economic challenges of rising gas prices and inflation in general,” said Chamber President-CEO Kellie Goodman Shaffer. “Thanks to the local businesses who support the movie series, we felt it was appropriate to make this price change to allow more families, and especially young people, to enjoy the drive-in this summer.”
The 2022 summer series opened Memorial Day weekend, with a free movie night, and one of the largest crowds since the drive-in movies began during the pandemic in 2020. Nine movies remain on the schedule, including Jurassic Park, A League of the Their Own, Days of Thunder*, Home Alone, The Little Mermaid, Night at the Museum, Talladega Nights*, Cruella and Titanic. (*these movies will be held Sunday evenings in partnership with the Bedford Speedway.)
Movies begin at dusk. Gates open 90 minutes before showtime. Concessions available prior to the movie include pop corn or kettle corn, boxed candy, Meadows Frozen Custard, drive-in t-shirts, and glow sticks. Other concessions may be available on select nights.

About the Silver Lining Drive-In at the Bedford County Fairgrounds
The Silver Lining Drive-In is the product of a remarkable cooperative effort among businesses of the Bedford County region. Twenty-two companies came together amid the challenges of the Coronavirus pandemic to create a lasting asset at the fairgrounds, and the opportunity for the Chamber, in partnership with the fair, to provide safe, socially-distant programs and events for families of the Bedford County region, this summer and beyond.
