Wide Array of Films to Offer Something for Everyone During Community Movie Series
Bedford, PA — The Bedford County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the movie schedule for the Silver Lining Drive-In this spring/summer. Movies will be presented on Saturdays between Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends, with the exception of the Bedford County Fair weekends. Additional movie dates are scheduled in April (with children’s movies due to an earlier dusk/showtime) and October 30th for a Halloween celebration.
Movies were selected based on a popular vote from social media polling and availability of film titles with movie licensing companies. The Chamber and fair select family-friendly classic movies and avoid competing with the local commercial theatre. The film series is supported by a presenting partnership with Bedford Grange Mutual Insurance Company.
“We tried to select something for everyone to enjoy this summer,” said Kellie Goodman Shaffer, Chamber President-CEO. “We anticipate some fun evenings that lend themselves to great themes like Superheroes, Renaissance Fair, Ocean, Jingle Bells, Halloween, Harry Potter, Star Wars and more. We can’t wait to see what our business community and sponsors come up with to make each night special and memorable.”
Adhering to the movie licensing agreements, the events will take place in accordance with CDC and Department of Health guidelines for safety during the Coronavirus pandemic, including masks requirements for visits to food concessions and restrooms and social distancing among guests.
Even as licensing fees are increasing, the Silver Lining Drive-In ticket prices will remain the same as 2020: $5 for guests 10 and older; children 9 and under will be admitted at no charge. Tickets will be available online through the Eventbrite platform and at the door as space allows.
Sponsorships are now available and needed to make the movie nights possible.
