Drive In Movie Sponsorships.2022

Bedford, PA —  The Bedford County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the movie schedule for the Silver Lining Drive-In this spring/summer. Movies will be presented on Saturdays between Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends, with the exception of the Bedford County Fair weekends or special events.

Movies were selected based on a popular vote from social media polling and availability of film titles with movie licensing companies. The Chamber and fair select family-friendly classic movies that have completed their first run to avoid competing with the local commercial theater.  The film series is supported by a presenting partnership with Bedford Grange Mutual Insurance Company.

“We tried to select something for everyone to enjoy this summer,” said Kellie Goodman Shaffer, Chamber President-CEO. “We anticipate some fun evenings that lend themselves to great themes, including baseball, space, racing, ocean, Disney and more.  We can’t wait to see what our business community and sponsors come up with to make each night special and memorable.”

Even as licensing fees are increasing, the Silver Lining Drive-In ticket prices will remain the same as when the facility opened in 2020: $5 for guests 10 and older; children 9 and under will be admitted at no charge.  Tickets will be available online through the Eventbrite platform beginning May first, and at the gate.

Movies begin at dusk. Gates open 90 minutes before showtime.

About the Silver Lining Drive-In at the Bedford County Fairgrounds

The Silver Lining Drive-In is the product of a remarkable cooperative effort among  businesses of the Bedford County region.  Twenty-two companies came together amid the challenges of the Coronavirus pandemic to create a lasting asset at the fairgrounds, and the opportunity for the Chamber, in partnership with the fair, to provide safe, socially-distant programs and events for families of the Bedford County region, this summer and beyond.   Another 40+ companies provided sponsorships and donations in support of the project and the summer movie and event series.

Thank you to these local businesses who built the drive-in screen in 2020:
