BEDFORD, PA- Bedford United Methodist Church (BUMC) will host a community worship service on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at 6:30 pm in observance of National Recovery Month. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA) launched National Recovery Month 32 years ago to increase awareness surrounding mental health and substance abuse.

A contemporary worship service will be held at the Bedford United Methodist Church to acknowledge God as the source of hope and strength in a Christian recovery journey.   The purpose of the service is to support people living in recovery in our community, and to encourage loved ones and individuals who continue to struggle with substance use disorder.

Everyone is welcome to come as they are.  Communion, healing and intercessory prayer will be offered.  Worship music will be led by the BUMC Praise Team.

Faith communities play a pivotal role in helping combat the epidemic of addiction.  Pastor Bob Marsh, BUMC said “Christians are called to share the spiritual solution of true healing available through a relationship with Jesus Christ. We look forward to opening up our church to the community to celebrate the miracle of recovery.”
