Bedford County, PA — The Bedford County Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce some exciting changes to our signature springtime celebration of local business, formerly know as the Home, Garden, Lifestyle and Outdoors Show.
The newly-reimagined event is called the BEDFORD COUNTY LIVING LOCAL MARKETPLACE, a vibrant springtime trade show celebrating the businesses, talent, and entrepreneurial spirit of the Bedford County region. Featuring an exciting mix of local businesses, including home improvement experts, lifestyle and wellness specialists, family-oriented companies, retail shops, professional services, and more, this event invites residents and visitors to explore the very best our community has to offer—all in one place. With a special emphasis on the value of shopping small and doing business locally, the Marketplace highlights the quality, convenience, and personal connection that come from supporting our hometown businesses.
WHAT ARE YOU IN THE MARKET FOR?
“We expect this event to keep the traditional features people enjoyed from the HGLO show,” explained Chamber President-CEO Kellie Goodman Shaffer. “But we also know that if you’re not evolving you’re going backwards, so after much consideration and consultation with our sponsors and exhibitors, we’re thrilled to open up this show to even more kinds of businesses beyond the traditional home improvement and outdoor/recreation industries.”
Juniata Trading Co. is back as a title presenting partner, promising a continuation of Explore the Outdoors opportunities throughout the weekend-long event, including meet-and-greets with representatives from DCNR both days to share information about our state parks in partnership with Friends of Shawnee and Blue Knob.
“We also know folks will still visit the show to explore home improvement projects like heating and cooling systems, water purification, gutter guards, and lawn and garden equipment, with major sponsors and exhibitors like Stoneham’s Motorsports, West Central Equipment, and Hines Equipment all planning their significant displays,” added Goodman Shaffer. “But we also expect to see businesses in the wellness industry, local services like real estate and banking, and maybe even some cash-and-carry retail opportunities for guests to do some shopping at the show.”
Ask the Expert opportunities will provide show-goers with the chance to learn from Penn State’s Master Gardeners, among others.
The Living Local Marketplace is FREE to attend, and families will find something for everyone, including live entertainment, food truck fair, children’s activities, door prizes, and more.
