The Leadership Bedford County (LBC) Class Project Request for Proposals (RFP) invites nonprofit organizations, service organizations, municipalities, and government entities to submit meaningful community project ideas for the 2026–2027 LBC program year.
The selected project will provide class participants with a hands-on leadership experience as they collaboratively plan, fundraise (with a goal of no more than $10,000), and implement an initiative that benefits Bedford County. Projects must be achievable between September 2026 and May 2027, address a demonstrated community need or opportunity, and provide the LBC class with significant autonomy in planning, decision-making, and execution while the sponsoring organization serves in a supportive, collaborative role.
Organizations must submit a proposal outlining the project, budget, timeline, expected community impact, and the respective roles of the LBC class and the sponsoring organization by 5 p.m. on August 20, 2026. Qualified proposals will be reviewed by the Leadership Bedford County Advisory Committee and/or the Bedford County Chamber Foundation Board, with selected finalists invited to present their projects during the LBC Class Retreat on September 4, 2026.
Final project selection rests entirely with the LBC class, and there is no guarantee that a proposal will be chosen. However, unselected proposals may be shared with other community service organizations to encourage additional partnerships and expand support for worthwhile projects throughout Bedford County.
