Bedford Candies
Founded in 1929 by George B. Sotirokos in Historic Bedford, Pennsylvania, Bedford Candies has long been a beloved community institution, and its legacy continues today under the leadership of the Wiley family. After three generations of the Sotirokos family ownership, longtime employee Tammy Wiley assumed stewardship of the business in 2010, carrying forward its tradition of excellence and handcrafted quality. Alongside her son, Adam Wiley, Tammy helped guide a new era of innovation, launching Bedford Candies Gourmet Popcorn in 2013—an idea born from Adam’s senior project—which quickly expanded the brand’s reach through new retail locations and the opening of a 10,000-square-foot Headquarters and Distribution Center in 2018. While the business has grown, the Wiley family remains committed to the classic recipes, handmade craftsmanship, and high standards that have defined Bedford Candies for generations.
Bollman Charter Service
Founded in 1948 by Stanley and Elda Bollman, Bollman Charter Service has grown from a single school bus into a trusted, multi-generation transportation company celebrating 75 years of service in 2023. Now led by fourth-generation owners Todd and Troy Greenawalt, Bollman has become synonymous with travel in Bedford County, offering charter services, regional and long-distance tours, sports transportation, and group travel across the Mid-Atlantic and beyond. Through decades of growth, industry changes, and even the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Bollman Charter Service has remained steadfast in its commitment to safety, reliability, and community—earning the loyalty of generations of travelers and the respect of the region it proudly serves.
Boyer Orchards
Founded in 1957 by Allan and JoAnn Boyer, Boyer Orchards represents three generations of Pennsylvania apple growers dedicated to quality, education, and agricultural excellence. Now operated by second-generation brothers Matt and Bruce Boyer—both Penn State–educated horticulturists—alongside their sons Wes, Sam, and Ben, the family manages more than 300 acres of orchard producing apples, peaches, and pears harvested from August through October. While a portion of the fruit is sold locally, the majority is distributed as fresh fruit under the Hess Brothers label, extending the Boyer family’s reputation for quality well beyond the region and securing Boyer Orchards’ place as a lasting agricultural leader worthy of Hall of Fame recognition.
Corle Building Systems
Founded in Imler, Pennsylvania, by John Corle, Corle Building Systems has built a lasting legacy as a trusted leader in the design and construction of high-quality post-frame and steel building solutions. Serving agricultural, commercial, industrial, and residential customers, the company has earned a reputation for craftsmanship, reliability, and customer-focused service that extends well beyond Bedford County. Through more than 5 decades of steady growth, local investment, and skilled employment, Corle Building Systems has played a meaningful role in supporting regional development while remaining deeply rooted in the community it calls home—an impact that makes it a deserving Hall of Fame recognition.
Rotary Club of Bedford
Chartered in 1926, the Rotary Club of Bedford has been a cornerstone of service and leadership in the community for a century, celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2026. Through decades of civic engagement, charitable giving, and hands-on volunteerism, the club has supported countless local, national, and international initiatives while fostering fellowship among community leaders dedicated to the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self.” Forty years ago, leaders of the club, which meets Monday evenings, decided that the Bedford County business community needed an advocacy organization, and formed the Bedford County Chamber of Commerce, which has grown into the largest business organization of the Bedford County region, continuously serving both businesses and the greater community. With a legacy defined by integrity, compassion, and lasting community impact, the Rotary Club of Bedford stands as a model of sustained service and a deserving Hall of Fame honoree.
Citizen of the Year, Rising Star Awards to be Presented During Hall of Fame Luncheon
In addition to the Hall of fame induction ceremonies, the Chamber’s spring awards program provides a special showcase for the Bedford County Citizen of the Year Award, presented by the Rotary Clubs of Bedford County and the Bedford Elks Lodge. A committee comprised of members of the Rotary and Elks organizations will select and announce an honoree who has demonstrated the Rotary Motto of “Service Above Self” and the Elks Motto of “Elks Care, Elks Share” through his or her contributions to the life and welfare of the citizens of Bedford County.
While the Chamber honors long-time business success during the Hall of Fame Luncheon, the organization is also looking toward the future, recognizing young professionals with the “Rising Star” Award. Two honorees (under the age of 40, leading in their industries and their communities) will be honored. Nominations will be accepted through 4pm on Monday, February 2nd with online forms available at BedfordCountyChamber.com.
In addition to the Citizen of the Year Award, the Bedford Sunrise Rotary Club will also present two youth Service Above Self Scholarships during the Hall of Fame event.
Sponsorships and program ads are available for the March 20th luncheon, and registration for the event is now open. Cost to attend is $69 per person. Doors open at 8am with the breakfast and program beginning at 8:30am. Register for the event through the Chamber office by calling 814.623.2233 or via the event calendar on the Chamber website: BedfordCountyChamber.com.
