Exploring the UK: Bedford County Chamber Plans Unforgettable Adventure Abroad

The Bedford County Chamber of Commerce is inviting community members to be part of a once-in-a-lifetime journey across the British Isles in 2025. The Chamber’s upcoming international travel experience will explore the rich history, breathtaking landscapes, and vibrant cultures of England, Scotland, and Wales — offering a curated itinerary filled with iconic landmarks, unique experiences, and opportunities for global connection.

The Deadline to register and pay for the trip is June 20th.

Planned for October 12-19, the guided tour will take travelers to some of the most celebrated destinations in the United Kingdom. From the stately architecture of London to the medieval charm of Edinburgh, to the rolling hills of the English countryside, participants will enjoy a seamless blend of sightseeing, education, and cultural immersion.

“This trip is more than a vacation — it’s an opportunity to broaden horizons, build relationships, and experience the world through a Chamber lens,” said Chamber President-CEO Kellie Goodmam Shaffer. “We’re thrilled to offer this kind of experience to our members and the greater Bedford County community.”

Highlights of the journey include:

  • London: Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, and the Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, Borough Market, Kensington Palace

  • The ancient circle at Stonehenge
  • Wales: Cardiff Castle and the Museum of Cardiff

  • Scotland: Edinburgh Castle, Royal Mile, National Monument of Scotland and more.

  •  Cultural experiences such as whisky tasting, traditional music, and regional cuisine

Please note: Itinerary is tentative and subject to change, pending final plans once size of group is determined.

The tour is open to all interested travelers, not just Chamber members. Participants will benefit from the convenience of a professionally organized itinerary, with flights, accommodations, many meals including  breakfast and most lunches; ground transportation to and from the airport is included with enough passengers to warrant a bus.

“This kind of travel not only inspires personal growth but also strengthens the global perspective that is so important in today’s interconnected world,” added Goodman Shaffer. “We’re proud to bring people together for this shared experience, one that many would not take on their own, but will love with a group of new friends.”

Cost for the trip is a tremendous value at $3,999, include airfare.  For more information or to reserve your spot, contact the Bedford County Chamber of Commerce at 814-623-2233.
