The Bedford County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce our keynote luncheon speaker for the 2017 Conference.  Jayme Orr Rhodes, president of Serviam Construction will share her inspiring story with an audience of as many as 200 business professionals at the Omni Bedford Springs Resort on Friday, May 19th.

Jayme Orr Rhodes is a female military Veteran who hails from Blair County.  She was born and raised in Altoona, PA, attended Altoona Area High School, and went on to graduate from the United State Military Academy at West Point with a degree in Operations Research.  She served five years as a Captain in the United States Army as an Engineer Officer and served a 15 month deployment to Afghanistan.  She was awarded the Bronze Star for her efforts.  Once she got out of the service, Jayme worked for the APi Group, a specialty contractor located in Minneapolis, MN.

Mrs. Rhodes always had the desire to start a business of her own, as it is in her blood.  Her family holds claim of owning the oldest business in Altoona, PA, J.C. Orr & Sons Inc, a construction company founded in 1882.  In March of 2012, Jayme founded Serviam Construction LLC.  Serviam, in Latin, means “to serve.”  Serviam Construction is a SDVOSB/WOB (Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business / Woman Owned Business) general construction firm with the capabilities to self-perform drywall, carpentry, ceiling, and concrete work.  She has performed jobs throughout the states of Pennsylvania and New York, mainly doing work at the State and Federal level, and has experienced growth in each of her first 3 years of operation.  Jayme takes great pride in employing women and Veterans whenever she can.

Jayme completed her post graduate work in 2014, graduating from the Penn State University Smeal Business School’s Executive Masters of Business Administration program.  She resides in Altoona with her husband, Donnie Rhodes and their twin one-year-old daughters.

Jayme is actively involved in the community and serves on the board of directors with the Allegheny Trailrunners, Altoona Community Theater, and Young Life of Altoona.  She also supports many local clubs, groups, and military / Veteran associations.  In her spare time, she enjoys running and has completed several marathons, often at the front of the pack.
