The Bedford County Chamber Foundation continues to accept applications for the Leadership Bedford County Class of 2018-19.  DEADLINE TO APPLY IS JULY 31, 2018.

LBC is a leadership development program of the Bedford County Chamber Foundation and Bedford County Chamber of Commerce with a focus on Servant Leadership. Professionals of the Bedford County region come together for a 10-month personal development program designed to foster a better understanding of our communities: their strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats, while empowering participants to make a difference in the world around them.

With additional benefits, including networking, education, professional and personal development and community service, Leadership Bedford County (LBC) has been called a life-changing event for many.  Friendships made through the program transcend the duration of the participant’s class year and their community service projects have bettered our county for nearly two decades.

Recruitment for the next class is already underway, with interviews to be scheduled in July and August; the class 2-day retreat (days only, no overnight stay) kicks off the new program in September.

From October through May, the class will meet monthly for day-long sessions focused on various aspects of the county, including: history/heritage/the arts, economic development, education, health and human services, the judicial system, government, agriculture/natural resources, and recreation/tourism.  A regional leadership session is also planned in partnership with Blair, Cambria and Somerset Counties (April); the class graduates in June after completing a community service project of their choice.
